Spray Painted Dried Flowers

Christmas Tree Ideas + Decorating Hacks | The Sugar Bowl Boutique

Go out collect your dried flowers that are in your yard (you can also ask that neighbor with an amazing garden) cut the stems longer then you think, you can always cut those back down.  And then grab some spray paint, I used Rust-Oleum Gold Glitter Spray  because I wanted the sparkle of the glitter. Please remember to use the spray paint outside or in a well ventilated area. Let your flowers dry.

Place the glittered dried flower in the tree throughout.  Think about placement and not putting them to close. In this tree, we also added pinecones with white snow tips, navy and gold ribbon, fun gold picks. (Fyi: Picks are artificial or real florals and decorations on a stick/stem that you can use in flower arranging)

Giant Peppermint Sticks

Grab fresh or artificial greens and a container of your choice some fun accents picks and you can get these giant peppermint sticks at the Dollar Store on or the easy way Amazon here.

Grab your favorite container…  here we used a white milk glass pitcher.  Grab some real or artificial green picks.  We also used a snowflake picks and a red and white fun pick.  Arranging it is the fun part! There are no hard rules, you just have fun start by placing your greenery in the container, then add your picks. you can see that are not very full but more airy. Then unwrap two giant candy canes. I broke one in half  and simply placed them in the front of the greens nestling them into the container.  You can add greens around the bottom for greater impact. Build some different heights with your elements. Have fun!

We wanted the Candy Cane theme to continue so we added real Candy Canes in the Christmas tree.  Simply lay them in the tree and wrap a branch around the back of the candy cane to hold it in place.

We also added fun red and white picks and a few fun twine candy canes to make more of an impact for this sweet treat of a Christmas tree.
